Definition: Service is doing something nice or helpful for someone else. Summary: We are fortunate that there are so many people who help out in our communities. Students will demonstrate more awareness of and gratitude for helpers in their communities. This new awareness could be reinforced by some teacher-led gratitude projects - children can express gratitude by giving cards, treats, and saying thank you to helpers at school and elsewhere in the community.
Students can discuss ways they can be helpers by lifting up others with a smile, showing kindness, and lending a hand when someone needs help.
