Definition : Service is doing something nice or helpful for someone else. Summary: Rosie is inspired when she reads about the importance of doing good deeds. She focuses her actions on helping people in her neighborhood, which is great, except that she forgets to respond to “asks” from her family members. When she finally realizes she had been ignoring her parents, grandmother, brother, and dog, Rosie begins “Operation Family” and starts to help out at home. Lesson Objective:

Students talk about what they can do at home to serve their families. They come up with ideas for acts of kindness for their family members.
