Guiding Questions for Parents.

Definition : Service is doing something nice or helpful for someone else. Summary: Paulie Pastrami is a boy who aspires to achieve world peace. He takes care of animals of all sizes, waters flowers, reads to trees, listens to the river, and makes a gift for his little sister. He starts to listen better in class, shares his lunch, says thank you, helps those in need, shows empathy, settles conflicts. Eventually he inspires his whole school to be more peaceful. But it doesn’t end there. He and his dad “go on a world tour” of their neighborhood bringing cupcakes to everyone. At the end of the day, Paulie is very tired, but satisfied, and peaceful - the world is a better place because of his acts of service!    Lesson Objectives:
  1. Students gather ideas about how they can work toward world peace with acts of service. They make a list of what they want to do and get to work.
