Guiding Questions for Parents.

Definition : Service is doing something nice or helpful for someone else. Summary: This book takes readers on a tour of the earth with the intent of teaching facts about what a special place this is. When we know more about our planet and those who live here, we are more inclined to take care of it, ourselves, and the human family. We can show we care for what we’ve been given by just being kind and treating everyone and everything with respect. Lesson Objectives:

Students learn that an easy way to provide service to others is to be kind and treat everything and everyone with respect.

What are the two parts of our planet Earth?
Do you know about how many people live on the Earth?
Can you name some animals that live in the sea? On the land?
Which do you like best, animals that live in the sea, or those that live on the land? Do you have a favorite animal?
What do you see when you look up at the sky during the day? How about at night?
What are some things you do to take care of your body?
What do you like to eat? Drink? How do you stay warm?
How are you the same as some of the people in your family? In your class at school? How are you different?
What do you like to do during the day? What do you like to do when it gets dark?
What are some of the things you do to look after our planet and the people who live on it?
