Definition of Patience for 4 - 7 year olds: Patience means having self-control, waiting and enduring when one would rather not. In short: Stay calm while you wait. Summary: Five toys are waiting by the window, each with their specific purpose of waiting. Sometimes one of the five toys disappears but it always comes back. While waiting, they see many wonderful things. This simple story can help children have a different attitude about waiting, a more positive outlook that helps them deal with the uncomfortable feelings that come with having to wait. Lesson Objectives:

Students develop a more positive attitude about waiting; they learn to look around for interesting things that capture their attention and distract them from the uncomfortable feelings that come with having to wait.

The owl only had to wait a day but the puppy had to wait a year. Why?

What are you waiting for? Is it hard to wait for it? What can you do while you’re waiting that will make it easier for you?
Have you ever looked at clouds when they look like pictures? What did you see?
