Summary: A little lamb likes to compete, and he often bends the rules to win. One day, his dad challenges him to learn how to play the game responsibly, so he can win fairly. The lamb finds practicing time-consuming and challenging but he doesn’t give up. Because he is responsible and keeps practicing, he finally wins the game fair and square. He realizes that he could do almost anything, if he works hard at it.    Lesson Objectives: 
  1. Students discuss and identify their challenges in relationships, athletics, and acquiring skills. They understand that grit and practice are necessary in order to achieve their goals.

  1. The lamb beat all the other animals at games, not because he was talented but because he ______________.
  2. Why did the other animals let the lamb win? 
  3. Lambie got upset when he played a game with his dad. Why was he upset? 
  4. What’s more important, winning a game or how you behave when you win or lose? Why? 
  5. What advice did Lambie’s mom give him? Did he follow it? 
  6. What happened when Lambie and his Dad played the game after Lambie practiced? 
  7. What are some of the dreams Lambie began to have when he became more confident? 
  8. Do you like to play competitive games with others? Do you always follow the rules? 
  9. Is there something you’re working on that means a lot to you? What is it? How’s it going? 
  10. When a person has “grit”, what does that mean? If you don’t know, ask someone. Do you think you have grit?
