Guiding Questions for Parents.

Definition: Integrity means being honest, and responsible and respectful all the time, whether or not people can see what you’re doing.  In short: Do the right thing, even when no one's looking.  Summary: This book features well-loved characters from other stories, including the famous Big Bad Wolf, who tries to convince the three little pigs and others that he has changed and is no longer bad. When he’s asked to tell the real story about what happened between him and the three little pigs, he makes up excuses for his malevolent behavior. When his friends find this unacceptable, the Big Bad Wolf confesses that he was a bully, and he asks for their forgiveness. The former Big Bad Wolf builds them a beautiful house as a way to prove how sorry he felt.    Lesson Objectives: 
  1. Students will be more inclined to tell the truth when they don’t really want to because they understand that lying will make them feel bad about themselves, and it may cause them to lose friends. 
  2. Students will be more inclined to want to apologize and do something to make up for their digressions. 
  Guiding Questions: 
  1. The word “integrity” means to tell the truth. Did the Big Bad Wolf tell the truth at the library? 
  2. Do you remember the story of the “Three Little Pigs”? If so, share about what happens. If not, ask someone who knows the story. 
  3. What is B.B. Wolf’s lie about blowing down the first Piggy’s house? 
  4. What does Piggy say to B.B. Wolf about the lies he’s telling? 
  5. How does B.B. Wolf prove he’s really sorry? 
  6. Share about a time you told a lie. What happened? 
  7. Why do you think it’s so hard to say “I’m sorry”?
  8. Can you remember a time when someone apologized to you or when you apologized to someone? 
  9. Did it make you feel better when you apologized? 
  10. Were you able to forgive someone who hurt you? Did they apologize or not?
