Definition: doing what needs to be done without complaining. In short: Do what needs to be done. Summary: There are some things in life that we all share, like the stars that light up the night sky. Mole loves the stars so much that when given the opportunity, he collects and hoards them in his underground home. Eventually Mole feels remorse when he finds out that all the other animals in the forest miss the stars. Finally he gets his wish to put them back so they can be enjoyed by everyone. Families, communities, and the world are made up of individuals, and what one person does affects others. Therefore, each of us needs to act thoughtfully and responsibly, in consideration of others. Lesson Objectives:

Students discuss what it means to be considerate of others, and gain information that will help them make thoughtful choices.

Why does Mole decide to take the stars out of the sky?
Do you know what real stars are made of? If not, ask someone who knows.
How do you know that this story is not about something that could really happen?
Why did Mole tell the shooting star that he wished he had never taken the stars out of the sky?
